Business Information Technologies, Inc.
"Turning Addresses Into Information”Founded with more than 32 years of experience, Business Information Technologies, Inc. provides high quality geographic products and services essential to meet the productivity and solutions demands of the banking, tax incentive, legislative, insurance, and marketing industries. Inherent in its management and employees is the philosophy to support its clients after the sale with the best customer service and support possible. In February 1996, BITI was formed by a group of employees from its predecessor company, DataMap, Inc. As part of an employee buyout of selected assets, BITI was formed to carry on the development and support of a large banking and custom geographic analysis customer base. Its products and services were developed under the guidance of Gary Mertz while President of DataMap. BITI’s employees, that are instrumental in the development and support of its products and services, transferred from DataMap to continue with the development and support of the customer base and products for BITI.
Banking
BITI has developed one of the leading software and service product offerings addressing the HMDA and CRA compliance needs of the banking industry. Based on the theory that compliance reporting is a mandated requirement of the banking industry and requires an extraordinary amount of time, labor and management attention, the reporting and management process should be performed with a flexible set of tools and should be affordable by all banks regardless of size or staffing. To accomplish this, BITI has developed a comprehensive set of products and services for the banking community. BITI’s service bureau has performed CRA compliance analysis for more than 200 banks. Their service operation is staffed with employees who are specialist in data analysis, geographic and data processing, and presentation graphics. To support its efforts, BITI has developed and acquired large demographic databases for the entire U.S. These databases are updated on a regular basis. Its databases provide the foundation for the demographic reporting and analysis required for banking compliance. In addition, the databases are used to assist its customers to find areas of opportunities within its customer’s markets. Highlighted by the capabilities of its powerful databases, BITI provides all of the required MFI, minority, census tract, and geocoding analysis meeting all regulatory requirements. BITI provides the client with a set of reports and processed information to keep the bank’s executive informed of the bank’s position with regard to regulatory compliance. BITI’s database can be queried by both census geography (block groups and census tracts) and also postal geography (ZIP Codes and postal carrier routes) enhancing the value to the client. BITI has developed a very user friendly and complete desktop compliance software product set for customers who choose to perform the compliance task in-house. Its product set is comprised of the following applications:

Marketing
BITI has developed and acquired extensive demographic databases. The database has been cross-referenced with several different geographic layers so that the data can be analyzed and interrogated in different ways meeting the customer’s needs. BITI’s cartographic capabilities enhance the demographic analysis and provide the customer with a useful marketing and evaluation tool. In addition, the demographic data has been captured on CD-ROM and is integrated with a desktop search and analysis tool. MarketPro, the desktop marketing application developed by BITI, is used by direct mail companies, marketing organizations of banks, insurance, and commercial companies.Tax Incentive Data and Processing
BITI has collected and maintains a complete database of all state, local and federal tax incentive zones. These zones, commonly referred to as Enterprise Communities and Empowerment Zones, provide lucrative tax credits to businesses that locate or employ people in specific areas in the U.S. Our database of more than 2,000 locations in the U.S. is integrated with our Geocoding application to rapidly and accurately determine whether a property geographically qualifies for a tax incentive. BITI maintains the data providing updates to our customers every 6 months.Geographic Information Service Bureau (GIS) and Custom Mapping Services
BITI is a geographic processing and services company. All of our software products and services are based on our strong background in GIS processing. Our software products are supported by our GIS Service Bureau that produces custom analysis for customers in a variety of industry segments. The Service Bureau creates presentation quality maps of any geography in the U.S. and integrates user-supplied data with its many databases producing very powerful custom analyses. In addition to custom mapping, BITI also provides geocoding services for customer address files down to the latitude/longitude of the address. Using BITI’s many databases, data appending to a customer file is a common request. BITI’s databases includes U.S. road and street segment file, 2000 census data file, 2004 projected census data, 5 digit ZIPCode centerpoint, boundary and demographic file, ZIP+4 centerpoint file, Postal Carrier Route (PCR) centerpoint, boundary, and demographic file, 108 th Congressional and State Legislative boundary file, EZEC and state/local tax incentive boundary file, and several other custom files. These databases are used in developing custom solutions as well as integrated into the customers’ own in-house GIS software. BITI custom tailors a service to meet the user’s needs. For example, BITI produces geographic data bases that feed customer point of sale equipment. In conjunction with the point of sale equipment, large area maps are produced with the client’s service area and route books are developed to assist with the delivery of the products to their end user. Business Information Technologies, Inc. is a company that specializes in the practical applications of geographic processing. Its products are utilized by hundreds of customers to improve their productivity and increase their profits. BITI’s service bureau operation relieves the customer of the burden of dedicating staff and resources to perform services such as compliance reporting that may be better served by outsourcing.Geocoding
BITI provides both software and service solutions for geocoding. Our geocoding DLL application can be embedded in any web based or customer based application. The supporting attribute files for the geocoder are custom made for the user’s application. Our standalone geocoder is tailored to meet the customer’s data requirements. For example, the standalone geocoder is being used by large accounting firms for tax incentive determination. The geocoder utilizes whichever attribute data the customer desires at multiple geographical levels (ZIP+4, 5 digit ZIPCode, Census Block Group, or Census Tract). In addition to BITI’s software application offering, BITI provides geocoding and data appending services to a wide variety of clients and industry segments.BITI Development Operations
